International design, engineering and advisory company Aurecon congratulates the finalists and winners of the 2021 Good Design Awards in particular Cylite HPOCT Best in Class winner for Engineering Design.
Recognised by the World Design Organization (WDO) as Australia’s peak international design endorsement programme, the country’s Good Design Awards is one of the oldest and most prestigious international design awards in the world.
Aurecon is the proud founding sponsor of the Engineering Design category and this year Aurecon CEO, William Cox was joined by industry peers Professor Veena Sahajwalla, Dr Bronwyn Evans and Jane MacMaster to form the jury panel for this category. The jury noted the incredible diversity of entries this year, many of which were created in Australia. From medical equipment to high-end machinery, the calibre of entries was exemplary.
A total of 24 designs were recognised in the Engineering Design category this year. The jury looked for designs that exceeded the design brief and offered something truly unique and innovative that was well developed and finished.
Best in class winner, Cylite HP-OCT whole eye measurement and imaging device, delivers all that and more. The Cylite HP-OCT device integrates the functions of four eye instruments into a single, automated platform to streamline the process of screening patients with eye conditions. It also provides complete 3D image of the eye with highly precise measurements, improving clinical outcomes for patients and clinicians.
Jury Chair Cox noted, “This design will revolutionise optical imaging and measurement in ophthalmology and optometry. It demonstrates very strong design excellence, development, attention to detail and innovation.”
