The InnovationAus Awards celebrated excellence in the translation of Australian research into commercial and social impact outcomes. It highlights non-R&D innovation and the use of applied technology in building our industries of the future.
Australia’s best and brightest gathered in Sydney on November 17 to celebrate the stand-out innovation achievements from the past 12 months at the 2022 InnovationAus Awards for Excellence.
Set against the enormous sandstone wall that envelops Barangaroo’s cavernous Cutaway, the 450 attendees laughed, laughed some more, and later, without naming names, danced into the night.
Congratulations to all the winners, runners up and finalists once again with Cresstec and there REED technology Runner Up in the Energy & Renewables category.
The awards focused on the following criteria:
Commercial success
Reviewing what commercial success looks like for your organisation, your export potential and success stories within the international marketplace.
Translation of intellectual property
Intellectual property (IP) is developed in different environments and there are many strategies to successfully bring the research outputs to market.
Impact
What is the company’s impact on its sector? Does your product or service take Australian smarts and create new jobs and wealth for the nation, or make the lives of citizens better? Does your innovation inspire through originality and ambition?
Applied technologies.
Looking for stories of organisations that have adapted or pivoted research and innovations to build a product or service for an entirely different sector. What horizonal applications of these particular technologies have been used to solve a challenge? How are they themselves consumers of emerging tech to create new products?
